Job Summary:

Ridex Transport Service is actively hiring new drivers in the Springfield, Missouri area to safely transport students to and from school. This is a fantastic chance to earn with a schedule that works for you, as most one-way trips are less than 30 minutes, leaving you with most of your day free. Responsibilities:

As a Ridex driver, you are the face of our service. Your responsibilities include:

• Safely transporting students to and from school.

• Dressing neatly, communicating clearly, and being on time.

• Following all traffic laws and being respectful with families and staff.

• Adhering to posted school zone speed limits and being vigilant during drop-off and pick-up times.

• Avoiding distractions, especially in school zones.

• Being prepared to stop for crossing guards and pedestrians; never passing a stopped vehicle in a crosswalk.

• Following each school's designated drop-off and pick-up locations and procedures.

• Stopping when a school bus's red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended.

• Maintaining your vehicle in good working order (brakes, tires, lights, etc.).

• Ensuring appropriate child safety seats are correctly installed when transporting younger children.

• Never leaving children unattended in a vehicle.

• Securing any loose items in your vehicle.

Earning Expectations & Compensation:

• Competitive Pay: Earn $550+ weekly by completing just four trips per day (two morning, two afternoon).

• Trip Rates (one-way):

◦ 0-4.9 miles: $23.00 per trip

◦ 5.0-9.9 miles: $26.00 per trip

◦ 10.0-14.9 miles: $29.00 per trip

◦ 15.0-19.9 miles: $32.00 per trip

◦ 20.0+ miles: $35.00 per trip

Driver Requirements (Vehicle):

To ensure student safety, your vehicle must meet the following criteria:

• Model Year: 2013 or newer

• Condition: Excellent

• Type: Four-door sedan or SUV (no trucks)

• Window Tinting: Legal limit of 35% visible light transmission (VLT). For Missouri, the certified mechanic inspection form specifies "Window Tint (No Less Than 35%)".

Missouri Specific Onboarding Requirements (Springfield Area): All onboarding-related expenses are tax-deductible as job-related costs.

1. Drug Testing – 10 Panel Screen:

◦ Must be completed at IPE Screening / Insurance Physicals and Employee Screening (220 W Sunshine St, Springfield, MO 65807) for $38, or Tomo Drug Testing (2055 S Stewart Ave, Springfield, MO 65804 or 811 E Division St, Springfield, MO 65803) for $80.

◦ Walk-ins are accepted during specified hours; appointments may be needed for later times.

◦ Be sure to tell them you are testing for Ridex Transport Service.

2. EverDriven SafeRide Course:

◦ Online training required for all drivers, costs $25.

4. Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Background and Fingerprinting:

◦ Costs $43.50.

◦ Fill out and submit required information online, then go in person to an authorized fingerprinting facility.

5. Mechanic Vehicle Inspection:

◦ May be completed by any certified mechanic .

◦ We will provide a prefilled inspection form; the left side of the form will need to be completed by the certified vehicle mechanic.

◦ The inspection form verifies vehicle safety and soundness for student transportation, checking components like the brake system, engine & powertrain, frame & suspension, steering, tires/wheels/rims, exhaust system, fuel system, lights, controls, windshield/wipers/washer, vehicle interior, vehicle exterior, and includes a road test.

◦ The mechanic must certify they are authorized, knowledgeable, capable by experience or training (minimum one year's experience as a mechanic or inspector), and have documentation on file.

5. Complete Driver Requirements: Finish any additional necessary driver requirements specific to your location (as listed above for Springfield, MO). Your profile must be 100% complete to be an eligible driver.

Once all steps are completed and your documents are verified, you will be eligible to receive route assignments for transporting students to and from school.
